AGATA ON THE ROAD 2026 – RITORNO A CASA

Agata On The Road 2026 – Ritorno a casa, promoted by Fondazione OELLE Mediterraneo Antico ETS, is the sixth edition of an international contemporary art contest inviting artists to explore the sacred and the profane, rituality, and symbolism inspired by Saint Agatha.
The exhibition is centered on the theme of “returning home” as a process of recognition, where home becomes a mental and emotional space shaped by memory, migration, and identity. Through contemporary artistic languages, the project weaves together tradition and present time, offering a critical reflection on devotion, ritual, and collective memory. It features site-specific and permanent works, including Passi 2026 Aci Castello by Alfredo Pirri, which transforms space into a symbolic threshold activated by the visitor’s movement. Overall, the exhibition fosters a dialogue between past and present, encouraging viewers to reflect on belonging, cultural heritage, and the evolving meaning of “home.”
