Synchronicity Series: The Absorption of Collective Ideas

In the Synchronicity series, Voigt delves into transgenerational dynamics—processes that often remain hidden, much like a blind spot. On one side, there’s humanity’s enduring aspiration to fly, a dream that stretches from the myth of Icarus to the ambitions of space exploration, seeking a profound shift in perspective and a release from the weight of gravity. Voigt uses black feathers to create autonomous and generative structures; these overlapping wave-like forms and vortexes draw the viewer into the image space. The resulting dynamic, intertwined, and knotted structures, set within an increasingly dense matrix, reveal a continuous motion throughout the entire composition.

308 Views Series: A Meditation on Perception and Nature

The 308 Views series delves into the intricate relationship between perception and nature, posing the question: “What does a tree truly look like?” Voigt seeks to synchronize individual perceptions of color and form into a unified vision. Using collage technique, she transforms observations of trees into vibrant, large-format drawings. Each piece in the series captures up to 50 distinct perspectives, blending intricate line patterns with abstract colored patches that shape silhouettes of various tree species. This layered approach highlights the subtle interplay of light, distance, and perception.

Rhythm Works Series: The Dance of Movement and Stillness

In her Rhythm Works series, Voigt explores rhythm as a universal language. Drawing from the Greek word ῥυθμός (rhythmos), which permeates all aspects of life—from nature’s cycles to the heartbeat—Voigt captures these natural rhythms in her dynamic compositions. A highlight of the exhibition is Calming Heart / Sich Beruhigendes Herz, a monumental paper relief. Positioned opposite, the purple-red Rhythm (7) contrasts with its layered paper and vibrant colors, creating visual symphonies that blur the boundaries between music, nature, and art. This interplay invites exploration of connections, resolving interruptions, and forging new links. The concept of layering is also present in her Fugue Works, which evoke the undulating forms of hills or the layers of sound. This series challenges viewers to experience rhythm not just as an abstract idea but as an immersive and transformative force.

Contemplation: A Visual Interpretation of the Fibonacci Sequence

The Contemplation series poses the question: How can an object remain stable while expanding in space? The sculpture features seven mobiles that explore the aesthetic possibilities of the Fibonacci sequence. Made from intricate brass wires and chains, the mobiles seem light and ephemeral, yet they unveil intricate inner structures.

Contemplation Room invites reflection on how art captures the essence of time, order, and transformation within a 17th-century church. Philosophers like Pythagoras and Galileo, who viewed mathematics as the universe’s language, believed natural phenomena could be understood through mathematical principles. The historic setting of Borgovico33 enhances these themes, symbolizing the timeless interplay of science, art, and spirituality—a nod to the enduring human quest to understand the universe’s mysteries through both reason and faith.
