ENMERKAR’S RIDDLES welcomes riddle, play and laughter as epistemological practices: ways to reveal the contingency of certainty and open the dominant narratives to a continuous reinterpretation. Language emerges as a place of mediation, interpretation and writing, capable of both strengthening power systems and opening up spaces of freedom. Within this framework, the artists on display work through different media to examine the way in which collective truths and personal stories are constantly written, rewritten, and questioned.
