NOTARI SOULO

SOULO è la mostra personale dell’artista Paolo Notaristefano, in arte Notari. Nato in Italia, nell’entroterra Tarantino, vive e lavora ad Amsterdam ed qui che, il 20 settembre, presenta la sua ricerca artistica, nella quale Arti visive e musica, segni e suoni si incontrano in intrecci e condizionamenti visivi e sonori. 

Dal 20 settembre al 13 ottobre, nella sede di Het Salon di Amsterdam, sarà possibile entrare nel mondo immaginifico di Notari attraverso una selezione di dipinti di medie e grandi dimensioni, su carta e su tela. L’esposizione, nella serata inaugurale, è accompagnata e completata da una Live performance, uno spazio-tempo unico nel quale il performer è contemporaneamente musicista e artista visivo.

Da sempre affascinato dalla luce, le ombre riflesse e proiettate gli offrono potenzialità di movimento capaci di infinite implicazioni emozionali. Il contatto con la scena artistica di Amsterdam gli ha dato la possibilità di scoprire nuovi modi di esplorare la luce e i suoni. Ha sperimentato così una dualità in cui il movimento dei segni e le vibrazioni del suono si intersecano e si completano. Per Notari riuscire a magnetizzare le vibrazioni del suono e il movimento dei segni nel processo creativo diventa altrettanto importante al pari dell’opera finita, della sua rappresentazione e della sua presentazione. 

“TufTupa”, è una sperimentazione sinestetica di segni ritmici e suoni visivi, nella quale gioca un ruolo fondamentale l’esperienza musicale che gli permette attraverso l’improvvisazione di tradurre paesaggi surreali in spazi indefiniti nei quali ritmo e segno pittorico dialogano costantemente restituendo un punto di contatto tra la visione soggettiva e quella oggettiva. In questa modalità di coinvolgimento emotivo, l’individuo nella sua interezza è libero di situarsi nell’ambiente e stabilire relazioni, attribuire un proprio significato ed un proprio valore all’opera e ai mondi in essa rappresentati. 

In questo senso, le opere, come pentagramma di uno spartito, fanno da trait d’union fra il dentro e il fuori, fra conosciuto e sconosciuto, il conscio e l’inconscio, la luce e il buio, la vista e l’udito, trasformando la dimensione individuale in un’esperienza collettiva. SOULO is the solo exhibition of the artist Paolo Notaristefano, aka Notari. Born in Italy, in the Taranto hinterland, he lives and works in Amsterdam and here, on September 20, he presents his artistic research, in which visual arts and music, signs and sounds meet in visual and sound interweaving and conditionings.

From September 20 to October 13, at the Het Salon in Amsterdam, it will be possible to enter the imaginative world of Notari through a selection of medium and large-sized paintings, on paper and canvas. The exhibition, on the opening night, is accompanied and completed by a Live performance, a unique space-time in which the performer is simultaneously a musician and a visual artist.

Always fascinated by light, reflected and projected shadows offer him the potential for movement capable of infinite emotional implications. Contact with the Amsterdam art scene gave him the opportunity to discover new ways of exploring light and sounds. He thus experimented with a duality in which the movement of signs and the vibrations of sound intersect and complete each other. For Notari, being able to magnetize the vibrations of sound and the movement of signs in the creative process becomes as important as the finished work, its representation and its presentation.

“TufTupa” is a synaesthetic experimentation of rhythmic signs and visual sounds, in which the musical experience plays a fundamental role, allowing him to translate surreal landscapes into indefinite spaces through improvisation in which rhythm and pictorial sign constantly dialogue, restoring a point of contact between the subjective and objective vision. In this mode of emotional involvement, the individual in his entirety is free to place himself in the environment and establish relationships, to attribute his own meaning and value to the work and to the worlds represented in it.

In this sense, the works, like the pentagram of a score, act as a trait d’union between the inside and the outside, between the known and the unknown, the conscious and the unconscious, light and darkness, sight and hearing, transforming the individual dimension into a collective experience.
