Via della dimenticanza
Via della Dimenticanza is a new permanent work by Lorenzo Montinaro, conceived specifically for Viafarini.work in Milan.
Developed in direct relation to the site and its surrounding urban context, the work becomes a permanent presence within an area of passage between Ripamonti and Corvetto, entering the everyday experience of those who live in or move through this part of the city.
The project continues Montinaro’s research into memory as a living and unstable material, exploring the tension between remembrance and forgetting, permanence and disappearance, and the ways in which individual and collective memory become embedded in places.
Conceived to remain permanently in dialogue with its surroundings, Via della Dimenticanza extends beyond the moment of its presentation, becoming part of the building, the street and the changing life of the city around it.
