WITHIN OUR SHAPES
Tempesta Gallery is pleased to announce the new exhibition WITHIN OUR SHAPES, curated by Domenico de Chirico, which explores the complexity and fluidity of the concept of form through the works of Nicolas Pelzer and Tal Regev.
The exhibition offers a deep reflection on the concept of form as a liminal space—a place of transition and metamorphosis that exists between the real and the abstract, the organic and the inorganic. In a world where, as theorized by Guy Debord, “life presents itself as an immense accumulation of spectacles,” Pelzer and Regev explore the relationship between figure and transformation, between the visible and the invisible.
“Here, the sense of augmented survival progressively assumes an increasingly fluid character, albeit qualitatively static, within an organization that does not create wounds in bodies because it does not incite the sentient. Thus, by intentionally venturing into the most hidden recesses of the unknown, yet simultaneously manifesting an eloquent but elusive form, the surrounding space and the space occupied by the artwork acquire a dual vibration—here rendered bifid through a considerable study, on the one hand, of articulated three-dimensionality, and on the other, of ethereal two-dimensionality. What follows is the natural reversal that moves from the abrasive material consistency to the evanescent softness of the pictorial gesture, mutually delicate and abysmal, light and arduous. Far beyond the concept of defined form, the interplay becomes a dance, the line of demarcation wavers between vaporousness and physicality, between the effluvium of the subliminal and the sneer of revelation, in search of a perennial dialogue on space and within space that may enunciate itself but never fully concludes. Thus, this unprecedented exhibition chapter emerges under the title WITHIN OUR SHAPES.” Domenico De Chirico, Curator
Nicolas Pelzer, through his multimedia sculptural installations, focuses on the role of technology and its effects on the physical world. His works, oscillating between experimentation and veracity, address the growing detachment between the organic body and technology, suggesting a future in which these two elements drift further apart. Pelzer invites the audience to reflect on how technology is redefining our physical and perceptual boundaries.
Tal Regev, with her delicate and layered paintings, explores the tension between inner life and outward appearance. Her works, characterized by luminosity and transparency, reveal human figures barely hinted at and objects that seem to float in a mysterious realm of light and shadow. Regev captures the subtle energy that permeates the relationship between the visible and the hidden, between what is said and what is unsaid, offering the audience an intimate and contemplative vision of the world.
WITHIN OUR SHAPES represents a dialogue between the physical and the metaphysical, between the solidity of matter and the lightness of the evanescent, inviting visitors to explore these dualities through the works of two artists who challenge traditional definitions of form and space.
