Coltivare la luce da fermi

Galleria Richter Fine Art presents its first solo exhibition dedicated to Pierluigi Antonucci (Popoli, Pescara, 1982), entitled Coltivare la luce da fermi.
The exhibition offers an insight into the artist’s pictorial imagination, which emerges from a profound and deeply felt connection to the land. This relationship is experienced not only as a geographical condition removed from urban centres, but also as a source of identity and memory. In this perspective, the rural landscape becomes a form of existential grounding, nurturing the artist’s sensibility and shaping the poetics of his paintings.
Although the artworks in the show are consistently rooted in memory and the deepest realm of imagination, they always originate from real subjects: houses, rocky landscapes, lightly unsettled yet never threatening skies, dirt roads, and wide valleys in which the human figure occasionally appears from behind or gazes upward toward the sunlight. The artist’s relationship with the countryside is not one of simple representation or symbiosis with the place in which he lives; rather, it is an attempt to convey its deeper meaning, understood as a precious resource that requires care, attention, and a capacity for inhabitation.
