Discorso in forma di paesaggio

Death of Master is a collective formed by Marco-Augusto Basso, Edoardo Fumagalli and Denise Tosato. Together they fuse tensions between bodies and environments, combining performance practices and spatial interventions, reflecting on the role of performance as an opportunity to understand what it means to be together. The project inhabits the grey area of non-linear hybridisation between concert, happening and performance. The imaginative environment explores the feelings and possible situations created when two bodies enter into dialogue, such as violence, love, anger, happiness, good and evil. Discorso in forma di paesaggio questions the role of bodies in the world and investigates complex human relationships and their confrontation with the outside world, searching for new constructions of space. Discourse is a situation that is created around something and the landscape becomes a fundamental element of interpretation of it.

In order to read a landscape, it is necessary to move outside it, to observe it from the outside. The performance plays with this shift and the landscape – in this case Campo XS and the context in which it is located – becomes a world in which the elements that inhabit it are almost playful and recreational tools for transforming the space. The performance is a kind of game that traverses different areas, trampling them and changing them, to feel their neutrality. Campo XS becomes a forge of liberating actions, in which the perspective from which they are observed, uncertain depending on where the user is, plays a central role. The observer experiences a short-circuit and, with a consequent increase in perceptive intensity, finds himself inhabiting new portions of territory altered by a narrative.
