Pittura Dorma

“Pittura Dorma,” the fifth exhibition at the gallery by Luca Grechi (1985, Grosseto),
brings together paintings on canvas, ceramics, and a group of wooden sculptures, and represents a moment of reflection and awareness on the current state of the artist’s research.”
The title alludes to the moment preceding the artistic insight, in which the phase of dormant rest is followed by the emergence of the idea in the form of a creative vision. Grechi aims to reflect on the importance of stillness in painting, which is akin to a moment of deep and acute self-reflection. Just as rest is essential, so too is the unexpected awakening, that moment when one is struck by the creative idea and the eager impulse to capture it.
