Per volare serve l’aria

“Per volare serve l’aria” is a solo exhibition by Italian artist Daniele Di Girolamo, marking his first presentation with Primo Marella Gallery.
The exhibition takes its title from an essential yet often overlooked condition: air is what makes flight possible. Neither empty nor still, it is a living medium through which vibrations travel, bodies move, and relationships emerge. The aerial element runs through and connects the works, evoking an ascensional dimension that is both spiritual and material. Here, human experience intertwines with the processes of the natural world, which become vehicles for accessing the unconscious and conveying, beyond the need for explicit explanation, the emotions and tensions that accompany moments of transformation, loss, encounter, and transition. These experiences are fundamental to the formation of identity, unfolding both through individual experience and in relation to others.
